Motorola, today rolled out an update to the 'Motorola Update Services' App recently in India. This new update is essential in order to get the next update to the phone - which is Lollipop 5.0.2 .
After reducing price of Moto E last week to Rs.5999 only this is the best news any Moto fan could get.
Motorola while launching the phone back in May 2014, promised that this phone will receive at least one update. Looks like they are withstanding their promise. Not like other manufacturers who never give out Android updates to their budget phones, you know who they are *poker face*.
As said, this app is necessary to get the next update when it will be officially made available. But if you want it much before than anyone else then you could also get the soak-test ROMs from Motorola which they might start to give away very soon.
After receiving results from soak-test, Motorola will start to roll out the actual update process for Moto E. This might take a while, so we can hope to get Lollipop on Moto E by March.
Not to forget, Moto E was Motorola's only and the best selling phone last year in the lower budget category. This phone dogged all competition from Micromax, Lava and Xaiomi and still is one of the best phone by price and feature margin.
And now with the lowered price and Lollipop update (too soon!) this phone again might give a tough fight to all the lower budget Android phone companies.
