Samsung Launched Galaxy S5 at World Mobile Congress

And finally Samsung revealed their 5th Galaxy variant at the Mobile  World Congress along with "Galaxy Gear 2" and "Gear Fit". Galaxy S5 was launched by JK Shin President and CEO of Samsung at the Unpacked event in Barcelona.

Samsung here finally revealed this year's most awaited smartphone at WMC in Barcelona today. This smartphone will set benchmark for all other high end devices that may launch in the year 2014.

There were many speculations about the phone before the launch,people most talked about the screen size and the finger print scanner. Experts and the pundits were hoping for the 5.5inch Full-HD resolution screen and a finger print scanner just like iPhone 5S.

But all that buzz and all finally came to end when Samsung's CEO President JK Shin launched the Galaxy S5. The device has 5.1 inch Full-HD SUPER Amoled display (1080 X 1920p) which looks similar to its predecessor S4.

The newly launched Galaxy phone is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core processor and 2GB RAM, the Galaxy S5 will come in 16GB and 32GB internal storage variants which will be expandable up to 64GB through microSD card.It will run on Android 4.4 Kitkat (latest version).

This phone also include finger print scanner similar to bio-metric scanner in Apple's 5S. The finger scanner will offer a biometric screen locking feature and mobile payment experience to consumers. The phone is dust and water resistance. The phone is IP67 certified dust and water-resistant. The back panel of the phone sports a dimpled soft-touch cover similar to the Nexus 7(2012) tablet.

Galaxy S5 camera: Fast auto focus, richer HDR mode. Samsung claims that Galaxy S5 has fastest focus performance among all smartphones, around 0.3 sec. Galaxy S5 has a hybrid focus technology. Uses both contrast detect and phase detect. The image sensor captures images in 16MP.Samsung Galaxy S5 has a hybrid AF camera for enhanced quality of photographs.

Surprisingly the device has a heart rate sensor at it's back under camera. This device is made more user friendly focusing more on the fitness features.

The phone is backed by a 2800mAh battery with a claimed standby time of 390 hours and talk time of 21 hours.Samsung claims that this device has 10hrs web browsing  and 12 hrs Video playback of battery life.

In terms of connectivity options, the Galaxy S5 offers WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n and ac, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0, NFC and InfraRed. The phone supports a large number of 4G LTE frequency bands with LTE Category 4 standard. It comes with accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, RGB ambient light, Gesture(IR), and heart rate sensors. The phone is backed by a 2800mAh battery with a claimed standby time of 390 hours and talk time of 21 hours.

The Galaxy S5 will be available in four different colors: charcoal black, shimmery white, electric blue and copper gold.Samsung says that on April 11 it will release device in around 150 counties.
